Kevin Halliwell

I started tapestry weaving at a young age and over the years attended numerous tapestry and textile courses at Edinburgh College of Art. Having now retired from curatorial work I am able to dedicate my time to tapestry.

I am especially interested in the cutting and shaping of tufted (turkish knot) yarn and other manipulations in order to create interesting and striking surface textures. The work 'Elegy I (Coral)' is part of a series dealing with climate change.
