Tapestry Weaver and Fungi Dye artist
I love to weave, to follow an idea through and make it happen by interweaving fibres ,creating textures is very special. I am inspired by land and seascapes, colour, ancient cultures, stone marks and rock art. Since I was little I have always been attracted to texture/ cloth and natural fibres. This journey led me to spinning to create my own yarns and then to dyeing ! I now specialise in using dyes from mushrooms and this interest has taken me on journeys across Australia, USA and Scandinavia opening up new pathways to creative interpretation. I designed and market the Trishary Travel loom.In my weaving I work intuitively exploring the weave and fibre/ colour mixes. Sometimes the design dictates a more planned approach but always the act of weaving is exciting.
I enjoy teaching weaving and provide beginner /refresher/ weaving with texture workshops. I also give talks about my work and dyeing with fungi.
