Trisha Gow

Tapestry Weaver and Fungi Dye artist

I love to weave.  To follow an idea through and make it happen by interweaving fibres and creating textures is very special. I am inspired by land and sea, colour, ancient cultures and their marks. I have always been attracted to colour, texture and fabric.

I dye my fibres with fungi found in Scotland. The dyes provide a wonderful rich pallette to weave with. This interest has taken me on many journeys across Australia,Scandinavia, Baltic countries and the USA, thus opening up new pathways to creative interpretation.

In my weaving I tend to work intuitively exploring the weave and colour always an interesting process often with unexpected results.
