The Tapestry Showcase will return for its fourth year to The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant, in the heart of Princes Street Gardens this November. The object of the showcase is to encourage the work of amateur and emerging weavers, and to give them a platform to exhibit and sell their work in a venue of national prestige, within the National Galleries of Scotland’s Princes Street complex, in the heart of Edinburgh.
We are now inviting submissions from aspiring weavers to express their originality and creativity through the medium of weaving. The judging panel; Miranda Harvey (The Cordis Trust), Linda Green (weaver), and Fiona Mathison (weaver), will select works based on the quality and originality of the design, evidence of a creative process, and on the level of weaving skills demonstrated.

4. Line Dufour’s You Tube Channel

Line writes:

Hi ,

I wanted to let the members of BTG know that I have launched a YouTube Channel dedicated only to tapestry and tapestry weavers. It will feature videos of interviews, how to, educational and anything related to tapestry and tapestry weaving. People can send me the MP4 files if they are not too large by We Transfer, but they can also share Vimeo links which I can sometimes download from, then upload to the channel. If people already have a YouTube channel, they should let me know. By subscribing to their channel, the link will automatically be shared on the Tapestry channel page. However, they are also still welcome to send videos for uploading more directly.

If you could circulate this by email, as well as include in the newsletter, it would be appreciated.

best wishes
