I teach beginners and those who want to develop their skills in tapestry weaving through exploring techniques, use of colour and design. Learn how to set up, weave a variety of techniques for shapes, shading and diagonals. The classes are small so students have a lot of individual help and encouragement. My life by the sea inspires my work and students can learn how to include beach finds such as shells in their work.

With over 20 years of experience in arts education, I offer a range of tapestry weaving workshops and courses, from foundational techniques for beginners to advanced, skill-based sessions focused on personal development. Each program is designed to introduce new methods and ways of working while fostering individual creativity and original ideas.

I regularly collaborate with local arts organisations to deliver group workshops (up to 15 participants), alongside offering more personal small-group sessions (maximum of 3) or bespoke individual tuition from my studio in North Hertfordshire. In addition to adult education, I provide tailored workshops for schools and colleges.

I run workshops and regular tapestry weaving sessions here on the Cumbria / Yorkshire Dales border, both through Farfield Mill (https://www.farfieldmill.org) and privately. Sessions are suitable for beginners and those wishing to improve their skills. All equipment can be provided. Through Nearly Wild Weaving, we run online peer-to-peer Tapestry Together and Troubleshooting Tapestry sessions, looking at specific aspects of tapestry weaving, alongside Tapestry: In Conversation where we talk to fellow tapestry weavers. We organise a range of face to face workshops and other activities in wonderful locations, alongside well known weavers and even musicians, making the most of opportunities to explore the local area and develop different ways of finding a sense of place - see our website for further details. Collaborative projects are also welcomed.

My workshops are aimed at beginners, with an emphasis on working on pocket looms to create little works of art.

My studio is a lovely calm space which can host upto 6 people.  We cover all the basics in a simplified manner and you can then choose to advance onto more complex weaving in my online tutorials.

My online classes cover colour blending techniques, where we will use multiple fine yarns on our needle.  We explore seascapes, landscapes and warp/weft manipulations.
