BTG membership

Annual Membership to the British Tapestry Group.

The British Tapestry Group exists to promote woven tapestry as a contemporary art form in the UK, by raising public awareness through professional exhibitions, networking & regional initiatives, training and development. Active participation by all members is welcomed.

Annual Membership runs from April to April. The 18 month subscription option is available from October each year and is shown in brackets.

For 2012/13 renewals and new memberships please pay the lower amount set out below. Please ignore the Oct 2011 to April 2013 options as they are no longer applicable.

Full Membership UK is open to all practicing weavers living in the UK who are interested in working with other members to achieve the aims and objectives of the group. It offers:

  • opportunities to play an active part in promoting tapestry weaving
  • 3 issues of the journal Tapestry Weaver p.a.
  • updates by email and web news
  • opportunity to display your work in the members showcase
  • opportunity to submit work for all BTG Tapestry exhibitions juried /non juried
  • advertising discount for Tapestry Weaver and on the BTG website
  • discounts (when available)at BTG workshops /conferences/ exhibitions /catalogues
  • access to the exclusive Members Only section on the website
  • inclusion in the website Members Directory
  • invitation to join your Regional Group
  • opportunity to stand for committee and vote at the AGM
  • opportunities to share your skills helping with events or other BTG work…

Student Membership UK is open to students in full time education. It offers:

  • opportunities to play an active part in promoting tapestry weaving
  • three issues of the journal Tapestry Weaver p.a.
  • updates by email and web news
  • opportunity to submit work for all BTG Tapestry exhibitions juried /non juried
  • discounts (when available)at BTG workshops /conferences/ exhibitions /catalogues
  • access to the exclusive Members Only section on the website
  • inclusion in the website Members Directory
  • invitation to join your Regional Group
  • opportunity to stand for committee and vote at the AGM
  • opportunities to share your skills helping with events or other BTG work…


Associate Membership UK is open to anyone wishing to support the work of the British Tapestry Group and those who are on their learning to weave journey… It offers:

  • three issues of the journal Tapestry Weaver p.a.
  • updates by email and web news
  • opportunity to submit work to any Open to All exhibitions
  • inclusion in the Members Only Directory
  • Invitation to join your Regional Group
  • access to the exclusive Members Only section on the website
  • Discounts (when available)at BTG workshops /conferences/ exhibitions /catalogues
  • opportunities to share your skills helping with events or other BTG work…


Full Europe Membership is open to all practicing weavers who are interested in working with other members to achieve the aims and objectives of the group. It offers:

  • opportunities to play an active part in promoting tapestry weaving
  • three issues of the journal Tapestry Weaver p.a.
  • updates by email and web news
  • opportunity to display your work in the members showcase
  • opportunity to submit work for all BTG Tapestry exhibitions juried /non juried
  • advertising discount for Tapestry Weaver and on the BTG website
  • discounts (when applicable)at BTG workshops /conferences/ exhibitions /catalogues
  • access to the exclusive Members Only section on the website
  • inclusion in the website Members Directory
  • opportunities to share your skills helping with events or other BTG work…

Full Rest of World Membership is open to all practicing weavers who are interested in working with other members to achieve the aims and objectives of the group. It offers:

  • opportunities to play an active part in promoting tapestry weaving
  • three issues of the journal Tapestry Weaver p.a
  • updates by email and web news
  • opportunity to display your work in the members showcase
  • opportunity to submit work for all BTG Tapestry exhibitions juried /non juried
  • advertising discount for Tapestry Weaver and on the BTG website
  • discounts at BTG workshops /conferences/ exhibitions /catalogues
  • access to the exclusive Members Only section on the website
  • inclusion in the Members Directory
  • opportunities to share your skills helping with events or other BTG work…
  • voting at AGM if “e” vote system is adopted


Associate Group UK offers:

  • two copies of each of the 3 issues of the journal Tapestry Weaver p.a.
  • one of your members may join your nearest BTG Regional group
  • invitation to BTG Exhibition private view

If you prefer to pay by cheque, you can download the PDF of the Membership Form & Data Protection form and post it to us with a cheque made payable to “The British Tapestry Group”.The address is on the form.
