Trisha Gow

Tapestry Weaver and Fungi Dye artist

I love to weave.  To follow an idea through and make it happen by interweaving fibres and creating textures is very special. I am inspired by land and sea, colour, ancient cultures and their marks.

I have always been attracted to texture and fabric and I also spin and  my own yarns using dyes from fungi and mainly merino and silk fibres. My interest in using fungi dyes has taken me on many journeys across Australia,USA,Scandinavia & Baltic countries thus opening up new pathways to creative interpretation.

In my weaving I tend to work intuitively exploring the weave and colour always an interesting process often with unexpected results.

I teach tapestry weaving offering individual or small group tuition for beginners /refreshers plus texture & design workshops. I will also give talks about my work and dyeing with fungi.
