BTG National Exhibition: Sound and Weave at Gracefield Art Centre - opens Saturday 11 August 2018

Gracefield Arts Centre 11 August - 29 September Gallery 1

At a time of renewed interest in tapestry, The British Tapestry Group launches an innovative new exhibition, Sound and Weave, which introduces the concept of sound, extending the horizons of this woven form and embracing a multi-disciplinary approach. Tapestry will no longer be the two-dimensional historical document of myth and expression of wealth, but a strong visual medium highlighting the interplay between colour, light, texture and sound.

Artists are: Jane Brunning, Ros Bryant, Margaret Crowther, Alastair Duncan, Stephanie Edwards, Paulette Furnival, Louise Martin, Louise Oppenheimer, Katie Russell, Christine Sawyer and Lin Squires and Andrew Dickinson (in collaboration).

Join us on Saturday 11 August at 2pm when Scottish contemporary artist Su Grierson will launch the exhibition.

Free event with refreshments served and a chance to chat to the exhibitors about the work.
