Bridget Lane
Influenced by the forms and styles of late Modernism, my work explores landscapes and wild places, balancing abstraction with natural rhythm, using colour, line, and form to evoke a quiet sense of place.
Intensity of colour is important, and I am continually exploring how a visually simple form can be enhanced with divergent colour tones.
I aim to challenge traditional boundaries and encourage a reassessment of tapestry as a vibrant, relevant medium within contemporary art.
I’m a selected Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and feature in the Craft Council and Find A Maker directories. I have exhibited work in the UK and Australia, and my weaving practice is balanced with teaching tapestry classes, helping others develop their own journey in woven textiles.
